Sports Journalism it seems has money to burn. So why you ask would the usual Fylers beat reporter be reassigned last week to cover the suspected hermit crab fighting ring uncovered in Affton? That's rhetorical of course, but it does point to an ongoing concern that this publication's commitment to the SCHL is fading.
As an employee of this publication, I make no apologies. Afterall, I'm a cog in the wheel of the journalistic machine and go where I'm assigned. But as a fan, a hockey lover, and human being I would be remiss if I didn't admit some outrage.
Shame on you publisher. Shame on you for letting your Fyler Faithfuls down. Shame on you for pandering to the hermit crab activists out there and forgetting about your die hard readership. Shame on you for letting the team and it's fans down.
Make your way to the Gardens this Sunday August 29th at 9am and make your indignation known. I'll be the one covered in humiliation and probably wearing sandals.
