Fylers Take the Optimistic Highroad

02/08/07
St. Louis MO

There’s an argument to be made that half a rink is better than none at all.  That’s the line Fylers spokesman Pierre Reedy took after league referees ruled the southern end of the Tilles complex was ‘unfit for play.” Reedy quipped, “We’re a glass half full kind of organization and we made do with what we had.”

While the normal rhythm of play was affected, the Flyers failed to disappoint with six skaters and the rookie Lewis in goal.  Among the skaters was veteran goalie Dave Bain in his first start outside of the net.  The change suited him as he notched his first league goal in the third game and followed with his second not long after.

But the real congratulations of the day were reserved for the Tilles facility personnel and their unrelenting commitment Fylers hockey. Let’s hope action this Sunday at 9am doesn’t have to rely on their dedication again.
