The Fylers battled bitter cold and near white-out conditions Sunday to extend their playing streak to two weeks. Only the die-hard and well layered would be stupid enough to brave these conditions. Eight noble Fylers proved the stupid part if nothing else.
Fyler net minders, encouraged by the commitment of their teammates or perhaps suffering from the early stages of hypothermia, waged their own battle between the pipes. Tied at a win a piece and even on goals allowed, the week’s victor wouldn’t be named until the final goal of the final game when forward Cary ‘the Finesse’ Hess, five-holed Lewis and secured a Bain victory.
With grim weather conditions projected for this weekend, the Fyler press office has been eerily silent. But a last minute announcement confirms action will attempt to continue at the
Tilles complex Saturday at 9am. Pack your long johns ladies and germs, it’s gonna be another chilly one.
